Hello and welcome. Thanks for taking the time to join us today, but don’t forget it’s Election Day. Stay safe and vote!
I came up with this week’s challenge:
Tell us about your favorite voting experience. And vote! Oh yeah – and vote!
It’s been a lot of years since the first time a cast a ballot for President. But I’ll never forget the thrill of actually being able to have a voice in my government. It made me realize how lucky we are to have a say in elections. I have voted in every presidential election since then and it’s always exciting for me.
Now, I might not always agree with the winner, but at least I always know I’ve done my part. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain about who comes out victorious. And if you don’t like the candidates for President in any given year, there will be other choices in four years.
The point is…I have the right to express my opinion and that means so much to me.
This year is very different than prior ones. I don’t have to elaborate. 2020 has been really rough on all of us and this election is more important than ever. The good news is more people are voting this year. It tells me people care and that is the first step in making change. Hopefully, that change will be for the better.
So use your voice and your power and vote.
And how about reading a good book while you’re waiting in line…
Now, let’s hop over to the fabulous A.S. Fenichel and hear about her favorite voting experience.
