Happy (as much as possible) Tuesday and welcome. We are so glad when you spend time with us! I hope you are all staying safe and well!
I came up with this week’s challenge:
Spring is just around the corner. What are you most looking forward to?
My answer today is very different from the answer I would have given a month or so ago. I know…thanks, Captain Obvious. But, here goes…
I am looking forward to going out without worrying about getting too close to anyone. I am looking forward to visiting (in person) with my friends and neighbors again. Annie, my puppy, is looking forward to going back to the dog park.
I am looking forward to not hearing the terrible statistics every day. It is so awful to know how many are suffering and dying.
I am home every day and, as a writer, my lifestyle hasn’t really changed so much. I haven’t lost my job and I have enough to eat, so I count myself among the lucky ones. I don’t have family on the frontlines (doctors, nurses, first-responders). But that doesn’t mean I don’t worry about those wonderful people constantly. The incredibly brave men and women who are risking their own lives and facing this horrible virus head-on every day to help others.
When this is over, I am looking forward to remembering how many acts of kindness were done, how many courageous people stepped up and how we came together to fight an enemy. I am looking forward to being able to hug people again.
Most of all, I am looking forward to this virus ending and becoming only a (grim) memory.
In the meantime, how about a reading a good book…
Now, let’s pop over and see what the fabulous Clair Brett is looking forward to…
Thanks for your inspiring words Leslie!
