Romance Writers Weekly

Hello and welcome! We are so glad you’re here! This week’s challenge comes from the amazing A.S. Fenichel:

Tell us about your latest novel and/or what you’re working on. Bonus points for sharing what you love about your genre.

My latest novel is actually a novella, part of an anthology entitled “Grave Importance”. Eight other authors and I explore the various ways medical students in the 1800’s must supply cadavers or lose their place in the medical academy. Think “Jack the Ripper” meets medical science. It’s due out December 10th and it was so much fun to work on!

My WIP (work-in-progress) is the second book in the “Morocco” series called “Tied to Morocco”. It is Catherine’s story. She has come home to England believing the love of her life, Tazim, is dead. Instead, he has been imprisoned by a villain who then forced Catherine to marry him instead. But Tazim, who is convinced Catherine betrayed him, wants revenge. When he reappears, can they rekindle their love? Or will the shadow of Morocco darken their future together?

I love writing history set in exotic places. I truly enjoy every minute of the research and when I immerse myself in the story and the characters, I am there with them. I can ‘visit’ anywhere in the world at any time and ‘experience’ life in a totally different way. And yes, people did actually exist without cell phones.

In my stories, life is very different and I find it very exciting. People were more patient; they had no choice. And the customs and manners are fascinating. I think sometimes I was born a few centuries too late. So, I have to go back in history in my books.

Come share the adventures!
