Every week we’ll answer questions and after you’ve enjoyed the blog on this site we’ll direct you to another. So come back often for a thrilling ride! Tell your friends and feel free to ask us questions in the comment box.

1. Do you prefer to write futuristic, contemporary or historical romances and why?

I love to write historicals because I get to travel in time.  And here’s the best part of that:  I don’t have to risk disease or bad food or unsanitary conditions.  I can pick and choose what my characters experience.  Do you ever notice, for example, how rarely they use the privy?

2. What is your favorite time in history and how and why does it inspire you?

Pre-Elizabethan and Elizabethan England.  What an incredibly exciting time, with so much political fervor and plotting.  What fun to have seen that firsthand. Elizabeth herself was so amazing.  She was so far ahead of her time and so brilliant.  She defeated her enemies and was still every inch a woman.  My kind of girl!

3. How has your life experience contributed to your writing?

I have to say I have re-invented myself many times over the years.  Every experience has impact on my writing, since all those things make up who I am.  And since the writing filters through me, everything I have lived through has influence.

Let’s see what Mishka Jenkins thinks…

I think I love to read because I can experience all the “yucky” stuff without getting “yucky!”
